Public Engagement

Public History Projects 

De Rode is dedicated to bringing history to wider publics. She has delivered more than 250 lectures—from Mount Vernon to Versailles, from Newport to Yorktown, and from local historical societies to the American Philosophical Society—and has organized several international conferences in Paris and Washington, D.C.

She plays an active role in developing historical content and public programs as a historian, researcher, and advisor for projects including:

• The American Friends of Lafayette (recently: Lafayette Legacy Tour in France)
  
  
• The French Embassy in Washington DC 

She is also a featured historian and on-camera contributor in Ken Burns’s PBS series The American Revolution.

De Rode is an active member of America 2026 and serves on the board of the Fondation Chambrun.
